Introducing Windy Tshepiso Maleduas: CoachHub UKI Behavioural Scientist

CoachHub · 21 July 2021 · 2 min read

Can you share with our readers a little about your background and who you are?

My name is Windy Tshepiso Maledu, apparently I was born on a windy day in South Africa thus I was named Windy. My middle name Tshepiso is South Sotho and it means promise. My educational background is in Dramatic Arts, Human Resource Management and MSC in Coaching and Behavioural Change from Henley Business School. I am a soccer mum to a passionate soccer boy named Lethabo which means joy, he is indeed my complete joy. When I am not coaching, speaking, reading, writing, directing community theatre productions, or screaming on the soccer field,  my other happy place is in the kitchen cooking and baking for family and friends.

What is your area of expertise?

I started my corporate career as a Training Manager and this is where I got introduced to the dichotomy of leadership and management. As a first time manager, I did not know how to best manage processes and lead people effectively. My passion for leadership development was born in this season of my life. I gravitated towards leadership development and spent the past 15 years as Leadership Development Specialist and People development manager across different corporates mostly in the financial services industry;  designing, developing, facilitating, and coaching across the leadership pipeline.  My expertise is in Learning and development, Leadership Development and Coaching for behavioural change.

Why are you a firm believer in coaching?

I am a firm believer that coaching is one of the most powerful tools that can help us mine human potential. There is greatness hidden inside all of us in a form of ideas, aspirations, dreams, goals, gifts and talent that needs to be mined. I believe that through the wisdom of coaching we are able to uncover these hidden treasures.I experience the power of coaching as a communication style in parenting, building effective relationships and liberating the best in others in my day to day conversation. The aim of coaching is to liberate the best in others and produce better performance. People perform better and are more committed when they take responsibility and ownership of their actions. I like this quote that says people don’t buy a product, they buy better versions of themselves and coaching enables them too.

Why are you excited to be part of the CoachHub team?

I am an advocate of coaching and am convinced that coaching should be accessible to all. Coaching is more than a tool but it is a communication style that enables people to think for themselves and come up with their own options and possibilities. Joining the CoachHub team gives me the opportunity and privilege of bridging the gap between science and business. My role as a behavioural scientist affords me the opportunity to research coaching best practice while helping organisations to implement these solutions to unlock people and leadership potential. I am part of a global organisation that will democratise coaching for all career levels, and that excites me. One day everyone will have access to a coach and more lives will be transformed and impacted one coaching conversation at a time as one African proverb says “ prepare now for the solutions of tomorrow” through digital coaching we are preparing solutions for the future.
